Anybody who knows me at all knows that I have more ideas than I know what to do with.Those people also know that I love words, letters, numbers, alphabets, and everything of that nature. I am a right type geek, with emphasis on the geek…

I’ve had all these ideas for fabric floating around that haven’t quite fit into collections, or wouldn’t work for Andover for one reason or another. So, I’ve finally just started doing them over on Spoonflower ’cause I just want to play with the designs and see where they take me. There is something about actually putting it on fabric that really forces the designs to go beyond just a sketch; that possibility of making something like a quilt or a skirt or a whatever just changes things.

And since I am making them anyway, I’ve decided I might as well make them available to everyone. I’m in the process of proofing and revising all of the designs, but some of them are available already. If they are up in the shop that means that I’ve indeed proofed them and made any subtle changes that needed making. I gotta say Spoonflower really does a pretty darn good job; I’m loving some of these colors…

Here’s just a few of the designs in the shop, but you can head on over and see more there. My first project is to make a quilt for Baby Rabbit out of all of the Aileron Dots, which come in fifteen colors in each of the two sizes…

I hope to have the remaining prints proofed in the next week, and really can’t wait to play with them. There is something about embedding codes and hidden texts in my designs that is really exciting me these days. Up next: machine embroidery and perhaps some computerized quilting. Huzzah for using technology to pull off impossible things…
