Yep, that pretty much sums up our trip to the county fair: the good, the bad, and the classy (someone please throw some air-quotes around classy for me). So, first the good: which is pretty much Bee and Wife, cause there wasn’t much else good there…

And then there is the bad. We unfortunately missed the star attraction of the fair: two performances by the amazing Shania Twin!!! Nope, that wasn’t a typo; Shania T-W-I-N.

And my favorite sign from the fair; just so you know this was a highbrow event:

And then, of course, there is the promised classy, ’cause sometimes things are just so classy you need it airbrushed on a shirt:

As usual, the fair scared the bejeezus out of me, but Bee had a wonderful time, and the cows, and goats, and sheep, and bunnies, and chickens were adorable. My annual pilgrimage to the county’s locus of sweat, dust, and deep-fried everything has been fulfilled. Now I just need a half-dozen more showers before I can feel clean again.
(I may be just a little bit of a dandy…)
Hugs,
Thomas

haha Shania “that don’t impress me much” Twin…haha If I had been there I would have laughed about it all afternoon.
My inner-hermit doesn’t like these events either btw.
“Youth beef fitting”??
When I tired to look up the fair the day y’all went I got a “bandwidth exceeded” error all day. Who says there’s no performance art in CNY?
I just know you’re walking around your house wearing that “classy” shirt! hahahaha
I’m actually looking forward to our fair this week, but loved your comments. Ours (Sandusky County, Ohio) will have it’s share of crazy things and people, but we do usually have a very nice display of historical quilts and also a competition for people to enter quilts and other fiber arts.
I can relate, we went to the Iowa State Fair yesterday, and while the quilt display alone makes it worth the trip (SERIOUSLY IMPRESSIVE) I shudder at sights I see while people-watching, the food offerings (a slab of deep fat FRIED BUTTER—FGS!!!!). It scares the crap out of me in general…
I may get slammed for this, but… the number of obese children at fairs, amusement parks, etc. is enough to make me want to go home. WTFF?!
