Scrap Vomit Slow Down…

I have been trying valiantly to keep up with my plans to finish the Scrap Vomit quilts this summer, but alas the world has proven my better. Projects keep springing up that require immediate attention, opportunities come my way and I can’t pass them up, and of course there is Bee. All of these things are pleasures, and are wonderful, but they do pull me away from my lovely 2.5″ squares (I love you wee bits of fabric!!!).

So, what was going to be the summer of Scrap Vomit may well turn into a year-long adventure, which is perhaps something more fitting. The quilts will be my companions as I make them, a guilty pleasure (nearly wrote quilty there: hello slip of the fingers), an epic poem rather than a frenzied fabrication.

Now worry not, I am not putting SV away; all the squares will remain on a table in the sewing studio at the ready should free time (cough cough) come my way. Now I shall just have more time to linger over my bounty.

But even now, more blocks are getting finished (well, not right now, obviously, but you know what I mean). Here are the four latest additions. I am nearly done with the B-blocks for the queen-sized SV quilt, and then on to the random blocks, which I am really looking forward to.

I really do love making these so much. They are a little persnickety, but then again so am I. So we are a perfect match for each other. I’m gonna try to keep them coming as often as possible, but with the expectation of sample yardage for Pear Tree in the next two weeks things are gonna get a bit crazy around here. Yay!!!

Hugs,
Thomas
