I am so excited to start my newest quilt tomorrow; this one is for the Modern Relief quilt raffle. I thought I knew what I was going to make, but then I stopped by Sew to Speak in Columbus, Ohio and fell in love with these prints and knew I had to make my quilt with them:
This one will be an abstract composition with a hefty Constructivist influence: vast swaths of the cream linen and hopefully wonderful placements of the fabulous Kona Paprika and these stunning and delightful imports from Kokka and Hokkoh. I can’t wait to start cutting and piecing tomorrow. This feels like the quilt I have been waiting to make.
Speaking of wonderful, while at a playdate today Little One had a bit of difficulty sharing. That isn’t the wonderful part, but this is: after a bit of frustration she walked over to a chair with Strawberry (the lovely horse that her Dear Mama played with when she was little) and sat down.
I came over to see what was happening and she said, “I’m taking a time out.” She didn’t want anything; she just wanted a few minutes alone to calm herself. Moments later she gleefully called, “Papa, I want to play ball!” So we did; much fun was had.
And yes, her outfit is looking a bit furry. Little One is sporting a fabulous shaggy skirt and vest along with a dinosaur hat made for her by her grandmother. She calls it her “monster outfit,” and it was imperative that she wear it today.
Yay!!!
Hugs,
Thomas
