More WIPs (at last…)

Finally getting back into the sewing studio again after Market, and I must admit it is about time. Been working on so many other things that I have barely had time to think about stitching let alone do any. But that changes now: One quilt to bind, a pillow to finish up, and then it is time for some Scrap Vomit!!!

So, the quilt. Finally getting something done with my From Little Things by the fabulous Sarah Fielke. This baby quilt is going out to a friend in Iowa; she actually replaced me when I left Drake University to move back east. Just had her second kiddo so I’m spreading a bit of the FLT love…

The pillow. First thing I am cutting into from my splurge at Sample Spree is Little Apples by Aneela Hoey; I just love, love, love it!!! Designed this pillow on the plane home from SLC; it needs a bit of refinement, especially the fussy-cutting in the center, but I think I am rather fond of it. Tutorial coming eventually…

And once I get these finished up it will be time to dive into the land of the Scrap Vomit Quilt; just need to get all these scraps that the wonderful quilting community sent me cut into 2.5″ squares. How long could that take???

Just for context, that Cookie Monster is about 8″ tall… Gulp.

Love both WIP’s – good luck cutting those scraps. I have some I need to add to your collection. Maybe I’ll be nice and cut them BEFORE I give them to you. ; )

I’m loving the little apples WIP. The colour pattern you’ve made and the fractal effect of the sizes of pieces is just genius!

Lovely quilt…I adore Sarah’s fabrics and books:) The new line from Aneela Hoey is just as charming as the last. What a creative girl. I look forward to the tutorial for your fabulous pillow!

I find that cuting scraps into 2 1/2″ squares to be quite addicting. If you lived close I would come over and start for you. I however live in Utah and you just left.
