Change (on leaving Andover)…

Many regular visitors to this blog may have noticed that I have seemed a bit on edge for the past few months, kind of stressed and unhappy. There have been a lot of things going on, some personal and some professional. As with all things, decisions cannot be put off forever, so I’ve decided to start making some changes.

The first change is that I will no longer be making fabric with Andover Fabrics. While I am truly grateful for the opportunity they (especially Gail Kessler) gave me two and a half years ago, it has become clear to me that it is time for me to move on. Thesaurus will be my last collection with Andover, and I obviously hope it does really well; there is so much of me and my history in that collection.

While I am obviously nervous about this decision, I must admit I feel an enormous sense of relief. As you all know, my voice is enormously important to me, and I feel like this move is the right one to really let me explore just how that voice fits into this world. In the immediate future I’m focusing on writing, embroidery, and some new quilts.

Of course, I’m going to start working on finding a new fabric home, because I have so many more collections left in me. Hopefully I’ll find a new partner soon; there is still so much more to do and say. Now to find that perfect fit…

Oh, and with any luck my fortune from dinner at New Harmony in Philadelphia this week will prove to be accurate, assuming I do still have talents left in me…

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

So, here’s the question: where do you think might be a good fit???
