And more fabric!!!

So, yesterday I got to formally introduce you to Frippery and I’m still bouncing with excitement. But, it gets better, or at least more-er…

I have another new collection coming out; this one should be showing up around the end of the year. It was inspired by a town in New Jersey called Asbury Park. I spend my early summers one town over. In the early part of the 20th century Asbury Park was a booming beach resort, but by the 1970s it was kind of a wasteland. (Think gritty old Bruce Springsteen songs and you have it; he started out there.) Well, as a kid I used to wander around the old boardwalk and imagine what it might be like if it weren’t utterly desolate (which it was). Asbury is my re-imagining of those daydreams… (I’ll tell more of the story as the time draws nearer.)

So, without further ado, meet Asbury!!!

Again, I am so happy about this collection. I have a bevy of quilts and other projects already planned for it, including what I hope will be my first show quilt (expect craziness). And of course I am excited about the new colors of eggs coming out with Asbury. Hope to develop a huge palate of these over the coming years…

Oh, and you can download jpegs of the entire collection from the Andover site right here if you want to start designing ahead of time. Yay!!!

Hugs,
T

I lived at Fort Monmouth from 1992 – 1996 and can remember having some of those same “What if…” feelings about Asbury Park. My husband spent 2011 living in West Long Branch and I think Asbury Park is on the brink of a resurgence. Love this line and its immediate connection to my own memories! Great work!

Two great collections. I love the ice cream cones and all the dodgems (bumper cars). My brother and I used to pool our money when the fair came to our town and have loads of rides on the dodgems.

Awesome; bumper cars and ice cream – love this! This place sounds like most of the British seaside is… slightly decaying with glints of its former glory. Hope it does really well.
